New Camera's videos wont work in Windows Movie Maker. Please help? - canon sd780 movie maker

I bought a Canon Powershot SD780 IS and films, the camera has no sound or video available. I have to use a Samsung Digimax S500 (one might say, I need a new camera haha bad) and work well the video in Windows Movie Maker. But my new device can only be in QuickTime Player. And I do not know how to edit the video to put on my computer and on YouTube.
